Jenelle Welborn, our Community Service Scholarship recipient, attends the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is working on her Applied Business Management degree. An early high-school graduate, she is the true representation of Honor Society’s values! ”I graduated high school early with many honors and a high GPA. Throughout high school and even now, I’m working two jobs. I work as a legal assistant for an attorney, and have done so for about three years now. I am also coming up on my one year mark for my second job, the program assistant for an organization called Volunteers in Policing. I have dedicated many hours of service to my community in the past year, a lot of which have gone towards a non-profit organization called HOBY.
I’m currently seventeen years old and this spring semester is my first semester of college. So far, I’m loving all my classes, professors and classmates. I am attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks and I’m working on my Applied Business Management degree. I love UAF because they are very student-friendly and they really encourage students to give back to their community, something I really enjoy doing. This scholarship will help me pay for college for everything from tuition to those little lab fees. I’m very thankful for this scholarship and the opportunity I had to receive it. ”
