Carlene Orsillo is an undergraduate student getting her degree in communications with a double minor in public relations and business from the University of Southern Maine. Orsillo has been interning with the University of Southern Maine’s Montagu Project, collecting clothing and schooling donations for individuals and schools in need in South Africa. This summer she will be participating in the “Leadership Study Abroad”, bringing the donations to South Africa and learning new leadership skills and new perspectives.
Orsillo will also be participating in the “Leading Creativity and Innovation in Entrepreneurial Organizations” study abroad in Iceland this summer. Finishing off the summer, Orsillo will be heading to Hawaii to finish her remaining credits to complete her degree and hopes to travel to Paris to intern at UNESCO in the Fall. Orsillo says, “This scholarship will make a huge impact on my ability to participate in these upcoming opportunities, to learn new ways to better lead, communicate and motivate others.
