haroldgit

Harold Gitau, our Honor Society Community Scholarship recipient, is a Lieutenant and a pastor with the Salvation Army, bringing his skills and care for others to the Honor Society and truly showcasing one of our top core values! “I am originally from Mombasa, Kenya. The Salvation Army is currently serving in 127 countries throughout the world. This scholarship will help me truly complete my MBA – International Business with international experience. I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Georgia with BBA- Marketing Degree.  My wife and I also graduated with an Associate Degree in Christian Ministries from Evangeline Booth College in Atlanta, GA (The Salvation Army School of Pastors) and just moved to Memphis, TN from Frankfort, Kentucky where I was stationed for three years. We are blessed with three wonderful children, a 23-year-old lady, just graduated (ARN), a 14-year-old young man (8th G) and our 9 years last born girl (4th G). I have had the opportunity to work in different corporations in Sales, Marketing, and Retail capacities both locally and internationally.

My passion is to help and serve people to meet both their spiritual, physical and emotional needs while providing solutions to improve and make lives simpler. I love sports in general, soccer, swimming, table tennis, traveling and some golf.  I spend most of my free time with family. I play brass band 2nd Cornet, drums, and guitar. I am also an Associate Member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, CIM-UK. I am excited and very humbled to be a recipient of the Honor Society Community Scholarship. The study abroad program will help me fully learn and understand what it means to be a modern global leader and have an international perspective in all undertakings. The study abroad opportunity will help me better understand critical managerial decisions and make me be a more effective leader to motivate my team to be more productive both locally and internationally.

The Washington State University Online MBA provided me with an opportunity to pursue my dream.  Due to the nature of my work, online learning has been the only option to further my studies. Founded in 1890, WSU is a land-grant university with a range of programs. The school among the top Accredited Schools, (NWCCU, AACSB) ranking top 25 on Forbes list, Military Friendly, 14th Global Online, #12 among the “Best Online MBA Programs” by U.S. News & World Report, etc.  The instructors are very passionate and committed to seeing the success of the students. They are available and provide real-life examples both local and abroad which help in learning and understand business concepts.”
