Mohammad Fotouhi: Congratulations to Mohammad, our Graduate Achiever Scholarship recipient! He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Computer Science at Georgia Tech, with one more semester until graduation. Mohammad’s major is in Machine Learning, and he is at the top of his class with a GPA of 4.0. During his Ph.D. studies, he was very involved and passionate about data analysis and coding and continued to stay engaged even after graduation. Finally, he decided to give this passion a real shot in academia.

“My name is Mohammad Fotouhi, and I’m doing my master’s in computer science at Georgia Tech with one more semester to graduate. My major is in Machine Learning, and I am on top of my class with a GPA of 4.0. I think my story is somehow interesting. I graduated from a Ph.D. program in Civil Engineering at Iowa State University 4 years ago with a GPA of 4.0and the “best research award” from the university. After my graduation, I worked as an instructor at the university, followed by a successful career in structural engineering. During my Ph.D. studies, I was very involved and passionate about data analysis and coding and continued to stay engaged even after graduation.

Finally, I decided to give this passion a real shot in academia. So I started the master’s program in CS, where I have worked on many amazing projects in AI, MachineLearning, Reinforcement Learning, AI in Robotics, Database Design, and many more. I love learning new topics every day and see tremendous potential in this field. Besides academia, I love traveling around the world and of course, reading books! The awarded scholarship will lighten the college financial burden and allow me to focus more on learning. Also, it will support me in extra-curriculum learning materials and opportunities. Considering my previous experience in structural engineering, I can even use a portion of this scholarship to develop some web applications that others can benefit from.”
