My name is Robin Wall. Thank you for the generous scholarship through the Honor Society Foundation. I am pursuing a Master of Music Education with an emphasis in Kodály, which is a way of developing musical skills and teaching musical concepts, beginning in very young children. My undergraduate college experience at Oklahoma Baptist University opened my mind and heart to the joy of education.
I completed a Bachelor of Science in Education at Oklahoma Baptist University during the years of 1991-1995. I taught in public school before having children. Upon re-entering the elementary music classroom in 2009, I was introduced to the wonder of the Kodály approach to teaching music. I am passionate about learning how to be the most effective music teacher that I can be, and that passion naturally moved me to the pursuit of my masters degree. This scholarship will not only be help me academically, but it will also help me to become a better classroom
teacher. I am striving to stay equipped as a teacher so that every child in my classroom experiences the joy of music. This scholarship is a springboard to that end goal. At this point in my educational journey, I am currently one-third of the way through this masters program. I am determined to complete this program and am thankful for your help in investing in me through this Graduate Achiever Scholarship.
